Teacher Writing a Formula on a Blackboar

ALGEBRA I

Algebra I is the basis of all upper level math courses. Students will apply the operations of arithmetic to variables instead of specific numbers. This course involves order of operations, evaluating expressions, and adding like terms. Students will learn how to solve, factor, and graph equations, and use the quadratic equation. The four basic operations and other knowledge gained will be applied to whole numbers, fractions, decimals, integers, monomials, binomials, polynomials, quadratics and radicals. The students will be working with rational and irrational numbers. Algebra is required of all students in order to graduate and, most importantly, preparing for the real world. Algebra is EVERYWHERE!
